1. Agreement

By using FormatLayer ("the Service") you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. These Terms apply to every visitor, whether or not an account is created.

2. Acceptable use

You may use FormatLayer for any lawful purpose. You may not use it to:

• Circumvent legitimate copy, access, or DRM protections on documents you do not own or have permission to modify.
• Process content that is illegal in your jurisdiction or the jurisdiction from which you are accessing the Service.
• Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its infrastructure.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer paid or protected components in a way that violates applicable law.

3. Your files and content

All processing happens in your browser. We do not receive, store, or process the contents of your files. You retain full ownership of every document you open, edit, or export using FormatLayer. See the Privacy Policy for full details.

4. Accounts

Accounts are optional. If you create one, you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at contact.formatlayer@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

5. No warranty

FormatLayer is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind — express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Always keep an original copy of important documents before processing them. Verify every output before relying on it for legal, financial, or medical purposes.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FormatLayer and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost data, or lost documents — arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

7. Availability

We work to keep the Service continuously available but do not guarantee uptime. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice.

8. Intellectual property

The FormatLayer name, logo, site design, and software are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works from the Service except as expressly permitted.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms over time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
